The Pirate

Stealing is a simple task
once you’ve done it once or twice.
I am the pirate that steals no gold.
I don’t steal jewels, or food, or any material thing.

No, what I steal is young women’s hearts.
I take them, keep them, and soon, toss them away.
They fall to my every need
and are used as pretty little dolls.

They fall for my charms and good looks.
My smooth voice.
My sweet words.
They can’t see that I’m the dreaded pirate they’ve heard of.

Soon, their hearts are mine to play with.
Their bodies are mine to enjoy.
But I get bored easily
and I leave them like that.

Hm? What’s that?
Another pretty lass?
Big eyes, awkward posture, screaming innocence.
Oh! I’ve found my next toy!

That pretty lady blushes and says no,
but I keep pursuing.
Not taken, pure, and very gullible.
My kind of girl!

This girl, it seems, is different.
She took longer than the rest to get
and had boundaries that I can’t break down.
But I’m a pirate, and nothing will keep me from what I want.

I thought she’d get boring in a few weeks.
But those weeks turned to months.
Then a year.
Then years!

What is so different about this girl?
What has she done to me!?
I used to see two or three girls at once,
but this girl is above the rest, and I can’t see others.

This girl, wow, it’s awful how much I lo—

I’m not supposed to feel this way!
I’m a pirate who’s not supposed to succumb to anything!

How did this woman manage to seduce me?
Hex me?
Make me do her bidding instead?
Ah, I see it now!

She’d the legendary vixen!
The female pirate, the captor of hearts!
She saw me as competition
and set out to defeat me!

I’m captured in her spell;
I’m unable to escape!
What she steals is young men’s hearts. And if I’m unworthy…
She’ll take it, keep it, and soon, toss it away.
